Josh de Koning | Senior Pastor

Josh became a believer at age 25 and quickly began praying about ministry. After working in various fields (including fire-fighting, teaching, and farming) and helping plant Harvest Bible Chapel Austin, he became the planting pastor for Crossway Bible Church in 2013.  Josh is passionate about the power of Scripture, Christian growth, and seeing the fruit of the gospel in everyday life and relationships. Josh is enrolled at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and he and his wife, Cara, have 4 children: Jonathan, Naomi, Benjamin, and Stephen.  Besides enjoying time with his family, Josh’s interests include reading, teaching, writing, BBQ, and coffee.

Nate de Koning | Associate Pastor

Nate leads, serves, and trains in the Biblical Counseling ministry at Crossway (Biblical Soul Care). He also serves in various roles in the church, including periodic worship leading.  Nate has been involved in ministry since he was 18, has served as a missionary in Central America, and has received training in Biblical Counseling through Front Range Bible Institute and the Association of Biblical Counselors. His greatest passions are being a part of what Christ is doing in the hearts and souls of people, helping marriages flourish to display God’s glory, and men’s discipleship.  He and his wife, Amanda, have four children: Nathan, Samuel, Jaden, and Joseph (Jax).  In his free time, Nate enjoys bike riding, running, spending time with his family, and carpentry projects.

Seth Kempf | Pastor of Small Groups and Connections

Seth has been in ministry since 2004 and joined the Crossway staff in 2016.  He oversees and develops small groups, provides leadership for multiple ministry teams, preaches on occasion, and provides administrative support.  Seth is devoted to discipleship becoming the personal mission of every believer and loves seeing God transform people as they engage in the body of Christ. He enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, coffee, breakfast tacos, Texas winters, and great company – especially his Crossway family. 

Shamus Drake | Pastor of Family Discipleship

Shamus has been in ministry since his conversion at 16 years old. He and his high school sweetheart, Danalinn, grew up and married in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He has served leading worship and pastoring several churches. Currently, Shamus is finishing his Ph.D. in Biblical Counseling from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and Danalinn have four children: KatieBelle, Atticus, Aslan, and Alistair. They love spending time with their church community, running, and drinking good coffee. As a family, they enjoy all things superhero, Wingfeather, Lego, riding bikes, soccer, and football.

Trebes Sasser Jr. | Elder Chair

Trebes and his wife, Michelle, are San Antonio natives and graduates of Texas A&M University. They are excited to share God’s grace with others and Trebes is eager to walk alongside other men in the church as they grow together in Christ.  Trebes works in his family business, investing in, developing and operating commercial real estate properties locally.  The Sassers have four children: Harper, Riley, Trebes III and Lydia. When Trebes is not spending time with family, working or serving the church, he enjoys hunting, fishing, running, and anything outdoors.

Eric Fulkerson | Elder

Eric is from Washington State, served in the army, and holds a Bachelor of Science and an MBA. He and his wife, Carissa, moved to Texas in 2013 for Eric’s role as Project Manager with the Defense Health Agency. Eric is passionate about biblical discipleship in the church, church-planting, and seeing others grow in their relationship with the Lord.  Eric and Carissa have five children: Grace, Jonah, Micah, Kerith, and Titus. In his free time, Eric enjoys quality time with his family, cooking BBQ, watching his San Francisco 49ers, and college basketball.

Richard Cobb | Minister of Connections

Richard was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. After graduating from high school, he moved to Indianapolis to complete a one year missions internship and ended up staying in Indy for 13 years. He graduated from Crossroads Bible College with an undergrad in Biblical Counseling and most recently, from Southern Seminary with a Masters in Church Ministries. Richard married his wife, Liz, in 2011 and they have two daughters (Izzy and Olivia). He loves spending time with his family, listening to film scores and podcasts, reading, doing puzzles with his girls, and watching soccer. Richard moved to San Antonio in February 2020 and moved his family from Indy in March, just days before the world shut down from COVID-19.

Gina Robinson | Church Administrator

Gina was born in North Carolina and raised in California from the age of 6. She became a believer at the age of 8 and has always loved being a part of and serving the church. After graduating high school, she earned her Bachelor’s in Business & Information Systems. In addition to serving in many capacities in the church she has worked in various positions (Information Technology, Systems Administration, Project Management, Elementary Education) and began working in Church Administration and Office Management over eight years ago. Gina married her husband, Dan, in 2000 and they moved to San Antonio and joined Crossway in 2019.  They have two daughters, (Theresa & Alyssa) and six grandchildren. Aside from spending time with her family, Gina loves Jesus and coffee, interior design, jazzercise, and organizing just about anything!

Aaron Orozco | Worship Director

Aaron is a Texas native – born and raised in the RGV!  He has been serving the Church in various musical & creative ways for over 15 years. Aaron has been in the GCC network since 2018 and is excited to now be serving at Crossway. While his passion is music, he’s constantly learning new things and venturing into new hobbies! More than anything, he loves spending time with his wife, Ashley. They’ve been married since September of 2022 and have been on an exciting journey and look forward to many more years to come!

Jill Patrick | Finance Administrator

Jill serves as our finance administrator and lives in Nashville, TN with her husband, Ryan, and their two children, Brielle and Ezra. She is the finance administrator for 5 churches. She loves using her gifts to serve the leadership of the church as they steward the resources the Lord entrusts to them. In her free time, Jill enjoys hosting people in her home, serving at her local church, and spending time with friends and family.
